LCity,/ <br />Louisville <br />Parks & Recreation <br />Memorandum <br />To: Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board (PPLAB) <br />From: Dean Johnson, Parks Superintendent <br />Date: 11/20/19 <br />Subject: Continued Discussion on Tree Removal Appeal <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this agenda item is to continue the discussion on the tree removal appeal <br />presented at the November meeting. The goal of this discussion will be to conclude by voting <br />on a recommended course of action for the City to take, to remove the cottonwood tree or not. <br />Background: <br />At the November meeting, PPLAB discussed the tree appeal presented by Mr. Solomon and <br />deliberated on Mr. Solomon's and the City's points of view. <br />As for next steps at the November meeting, PPLAB could have elected to support the City <br />Forester's recommendation, elected to support Mr. Solomon's request of not removing, or ask <br />for additional information or engineer's assessment to be proved and discussed at a future <br />PPLAB meeting. <br />The Board voted 4-2, in favor of obtaining an engineer's assessment to be provided with analysis <br />not to exceed $500. <br />Next Steps: <br />After discussing, PPLAB will be asked to vote, for or against, a recommendation to remove a <br />cottonwood tree at Cleo Mudrock Park at the December meeting. <br />7 <br />
