Update – Water Resources <br /> Councilmember Stolzmann asked Mr. Peterson to update us on the Water <br />Resources. <br />• Water Supply Update – Mr. Peterson stated that the condition of the water <br />supply are normal for this time of year and the current snow storm will add <br />to the snowpack totals. <br />• Windy Gap Firming – Mr. Peterson said the District continues to work on <br />the firming project. Project Financing is scheduled to be finalized in 2020. <br />Mr. Peterson said there will be a 5th Amendment to the Interim Agreement <br />for $378,000 going to Council in November that will allow work to continue <br />in 2020. Mayor Muckle asked about the legal status. Mr. Peterson and Mr. <br />Hill provide an update on the various legal matters <br />• Reuse System - Councilmember Stolzmann asked about the operational <br />changes for the Community Park pond. A brief overview was provided <br />with the topic being referred to the Parks Board for further discussion on <br />possible impacts. <br /> <br />XII. Upcoming Projects and Council Action <br /> <br />• CIP Update – Mr. Peterson gave a quick rundown of the four blocks listed <br />in the table on the last page and said the first large block are project on <br />budget, on track and are doing what they are supposed to. Then referred <br />to the next 3 blocks and said this is where we may have funding shortfalls. <br />Mr. Peterson started with the Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) <br />Replacement (Rec Center high zone to low zone). We received initial <br />quotes that came in around $70,000 which is where we got our budget <br />number from. Given all the change we have had in construction, we think <br />it will go higher but don’t know yet. We are in the process of bidding this <br />work in early 2020. We are also just going out to bid for the Tank <br />Maintenance and this may also go over the $100,000. Mr. Kowar <br />explained the water tank maintenance sounds simple but it’s where we <br />have a couple tanks where tendons are popping out of the concrete. Mr. <br />Peterson continued with the Fluoride Equipment Replacement saying it is <br />in design, we received estimates where it’s about a half a million and this <br />estimate is very conservative. Councilmember Stolzmann asked what <br />type of fluoride system is used. Mr. Peterson said the current and <br />proposed system will use sodium fluorosilicate. The committee supports <br />6
