Khan d/b/a Taj Mahal III - Hotel & Restaurant License -
1075 So. Boulder Road.

Chairperson Jeffers stated that the Authority had questions on the renewal application for the Taj Mahal
III. The renewal application noted the Westminster Taj Mahal was currently under litigation. He asked
Mr. Khan to clarify the status of that establishment with regards to any liquor license violations.
Mr. Khan explained that he is presently in litigation with the City of Westminster over a Hotel &
Restaurant Liquor License application in that city. He stated the problem stems from his partners recent
DWAI conviction. The person in question is not a partner in the Louisville Taj Mahal Restaurant. The
City of Westminster has denied approval of the license and has proceeded with a hearing on the renewal
application. Mr. Khan stated that there has not been any liquor violations in the Westminster
establishment. Mr. Khan asked the Authority to grant the Taj Mahal III renewal license.

There was discussion relative to a late renewal fee for the Taj Mahal III. Mr. Khan sent the renewal
directly to the State therefore the license had expired prior to City approval. The statutes and ordinances
allow for collection of a $500.00 late renewal fee.

Myers moved the Authority waive the $500.00 late renewal fee but not the regular $50.00 fee. Lipton
seconded the motion. All members were in favor, the motion carded.

2
