This property, which is 330 acres in <br />size, is located east of South 88th Street; west of South 96th <br />Street; south of Campus Drive; and north of the Boulder - <br />Denver Turnpike (US 36). <br />Approval of Resolution No. 02, Series 2009, recommending <br />approval of a special review use (SRU) for the construction of <br />an ATS on property owned by ConocoPhillips. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The applicant, Sprint Nextel, is requesting to construct an Alternative Tower Structure <br />(ATS) monopole adjacent to pond #1, which is located on a 330 acre property owned by <br />ConocoPhillips Company. An ATS in the Industrial zone district requires approval of a <br />special review use. <br />The Louisville Municipal Code, Section 17.08.022, defines an ATS as "an existing or <br />proposed structure that is compatible with the natural setting and surrounding structures <br />and that camouflages or conceals the presence of the antennae and can be used to <br />house or mount CMRS (commercial mobile radio services) antennae. Examples would <br />include manmade trees, clock towers, bell steeples, light poles, silos, existing utility <br />poles, existing utility transmission towers and other similar alternative designed <br />1 <br />
