This memo has been drafted with assistance from the City’s special <br />district counsel, Kim Crawford with Butler Snow, who will be in attendance at the <br />January 28, 2020 study session along with the City Attorney. A power point is also <br />attached. The City Attorney in collaboration with Kim Crawford will review the power <br />point at the study session and respond to questions. <br /> <br />Also please find attached some recent newspaper articles on metro districts as well as <br />some CML slides on the topic from 2019. <br /> <br />PROGRAM/SUB-PROGRAM IMPACT: <br />The subject of Metro Districts has the potential to impact the Community Design <br />subprogram objective regarding “A well-connected and safe community that is easy for <br />all people to walk, bike, or drive in. Neighborhoods that are rated highly by residents <br />and thriving commercial areas.” In addition, the discussion helps to fulfill our <br />Administration and Support Services goal to “Ensure inclusive, responsive, transparent, <br />friendly, fiscally responsible, effective and efficient governance, administration and <br />support.” <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Discussion <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.
