L
MEET THE TEAM FROM REPUBLIC
You'll be seeing (from left to right) James, Nick, Jaime, and
Allen in Louisville soon. As your new waste haulers, the
Louisville team for Republic Services will be collecting your
trash, compost, and recycling starting September 3.
Take a minute and get to know some of the guys in the new
blue trucks.
Jaime has been with Republic Services for 23 years. He
enjoys the friendly environment created by the other driv-
ers and the good pay. His favorite part of the job is meeting
new people, getting to know his customers, and taking care
of them and their needs. In his free time, he enjoys spending
time with his family, hiking, and playing soccer and basket-
ball with his kids.
Nick has been with Republic Services for 21 years —15 years
in Michigan and the last six in Colorado. He enjoys working
outside and talking to customers. His priority is providing a
safe and reliable service for his customers. When he's not at
work, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, spending time with his
family and his dog, and playing video games.
Allen has been with Republic Services for 15 years. He enjoys
his job because he says it makes a difference in the world
and has provided a comfortable life for him and his family.
In his spare time, Allen enjoys Colorado's outdoor activities,
including hunting and fishing. He also enjoys'cooking it up'
at a backyard BBQ with a cold beer and his dogs.
Service info
All Louisville residents participating in the city-wide solid
waste program will have received a calendar of service
schedules and other information in the mail from Republic
Services in August. Republic Services will begin waste collec-
tion in Louisville on September 3, 2019. Collection days are
Tuesday through Friday.
If you have not received a mailing from Republic, please call
Louisville's Republic Customer Service Line (303) 286-5400.
For further info on service and schedules,
visit www.republicservices.com/municipality/louisville-co
FREE SPRINKLER CHECK-UP UNTIL MID-SEPT
Many Louisville residents took advantage of the City's offer of
a free sprinkler check-up from Resource Central this summer.
And there's still time to schedule yours!
Until mid -September, Resource Central will help residents
to water -wise their homes with a free sprinkler check-up.
Trained technicians will test your sprinkler system and rec-
ommend a customized watering schedule that could save
thousands of gallons of water per year. This will help lower
your water bill by ensuring that your sprinklers are running
efficiently. Resource Central will identify any major system
inefficiencies, adjust what they can, and make recommenda-
tions on how to better optimize your system's efficiency and
reduce water waste.
To take part in this free service, call Resource Central on
(303) 999-3824 or visit ResourceCentral.org/sprinklers
T
RIE SOU RCE
central
CONSERVATION MADE EASY
GREEN SCENE
In 2018, Colorado communities created a record 9,307,000
tons of waste with the average Colorado resident throwing
away nearly eight pounds of landfilled trash per day. In Lou-
isville that's close to a staggering 62 million pounds of waste
annually! By understanding zero waste concepts, knowing
how to sort between landfill, recycling and composting and
growing our at-home knowledge, Louisville can continue
to increase its diversion and minimize our environmental
impact. Visit the City's website for more information on recy-
cling and compost: LouisvilleCO.gov/recycling
If you have any questions about the City's sustainability
work, contact our Sustainability Manager Katie Baum by
phone (303) 335-4534 or e-mail kbaum@louisvilleco.gov
RECYCLING BIN'BIN'S DIRTY DOZEN
1.
