Mayor <br />Stolzmann added that the process should not be rushed to meet a certain <br />deadline and strive to concentrate on a sound methodology for setting rates. <br /> <br />IX. 2020 Tap Fees <br /> Mr. Kowar presented the final 2020 Water Tap Fees planned to go into effect <br />February 15th. The policy approval is scheduled for City Council on January 21. <br />X. Update – Water Resources <br />• Water Supply Update - Mr. Peterson stated that supplies are doing <br />relatively well. The Marshall Lake storage is down as this source is being <br />more heavily used due to restrictions from a couple capital projects. <br />• Windy Gap Firming Project - Mr. Peterson said the project is still <br />progressing but we continue to wait for resolution of the legal issues. <br />Construction is planned for this summer. <br />XI. Upcoming Projects and Council Action <br />• CIP Update – Nothing major to report. <br />• Water Engineers Contract – This is for Water Rights Consulting for <br />Spronk Engineers contract that will be going to the January 21st Council <br />Meeting. <br />• Backflow Compliance – Mr. Kowar wanted to let the committee know <br />that the City had a compliance issue with the Backflow and Cross <br />Control Program. He explained during a routine inspection conducted <br />on September 23, 2019 the CDPHE identified that the City violated <br />requirements of the Backflow Prevention and Cross Connection Control <br />Rule during the period of 2016 through 2018. Documentation of these <br />violations were provided to the City on December 20, 2019. The <br />compliance failures, requires a public notice to be sent within 30 days. <br />He stated that the City is in compliance for 2019 and the City’s water <br />meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements. Councilmember Lipton <br />asked if we will get fined. At this time any potential fines have not been <br />determined by CDPHE. <br /> <br />XII. Adjourn <br />Councilmember Lipton motioned to adjourn and Mayor Pro Tem Maloney second <br />the motion, all agreed and the meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />7
