The Authority as a whole questioned the impact of this bar on the <br />surrounding neighborhood and in the community as a whole even though not all the incidents <br />have led to convictions. <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Lipton and member Jeffers questioned whether there was assistance available <br />at the State level. Sergeant Riggins stated that while the State has assisted in the past, personnel <br />resources are sparse. <br /> <br />Jeffers madea motion for the Authority Secretary to drafta strongly wOrded letter to the license <br />holder outlining the Authority's ong°ing concernS ~garding serVice to and identificatiOn of <br />intoxicated persOns at Gentleman Jim, s~ seconded by LiptOn: All members were in favor, <br />motion Passed. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers asked Authority Attorney Kelly if general discussion of potential investigations <br />for any licensee could be discussed under Executive Session guidelines. Attorney Kelly stated <br />this topic does not clearly meet the City's criteria established for Executive Sessions. Attorney <br />Kelly further stated that Members who discussed Authority business outside Local Licensing <br />Authority meetings should be careful not to violate the open meetings law. <br /> <br />B. Incident at Henry's Bar & Grill <br /> <br />Sergeant Riggins reviewed with the Authority the police report of April 15, 2000 outlining the <br />alleged incident at Henry's Bar & Grill. The alleged incident involved one person arrested for <br />DUI and one person transported to ARC. <br /> <br />The Authority briefly discussed the report and agreed to table this item pending a supplemental <br />report from the Police Department. <br /> <br />Jeffers moved to table this item until the next reguI~lY scheduled meeting to be held °nMay 8, <br />2000; seC°nded by Vice Ch~rperson Lipton. All members being in favor, the motion carded. <br /> <br />SECRETARY'S REPORT <br /> <br />A. Louisville Liquor Training Survey <br /> <br />Deputy City Clerk Penney Bolte presented the results of a local liquor training survey, <br />completed at the request of the Authority after the last regular meeting. Only two of the <br />licensees contacted were able to supply information, Carrabba's and Ruby Tuesday' s. It was <br />explained to the Authority that the Managers contacted would need permission from parent <br />companies to release any training videos or materials. Members were informed that all the <br />establishments contacted welcomed Authority on-site viewing of their liquor training materials. <br /> <br />Authority Secretary Varra confirmed to the Authority that she has requested the State Liquor <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
