Louisville Local Licensing Authority <br />Meeting Date: May 8, 2000 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />Authority member Lipton returned to the meetihg following the last motion. <br /> <br />SECRETARY'S REPORT <br /> <br />A. Liquor Training Attendance Roster <br /> <br />Penney Bolte, Deputy City Clerk reviewed the attendance roster of the joint liquor training sessions <br />held April 26, 2000 and April 30, 2000. Authority Secretary Nancy Varra informed the Authority <br />that Mr. B.J. Johnson would be the new state trainer from the Liquor Enforcement Division for the <br />Louisville and Lafayette joint training sessions. <br /> <br />AUTHORITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />Authority Attorney Kathleen Kelly presented the Plaintiff' s Reply Brief in the case between L & G <br />Liquors, Inc., d/b/a L & G Liquors vs. City of Louisville and The Local Licensing Authority of the <br />City of Louisville. Attorney Kelly informed the Authority that this would be the last pleading <br />permitted under Rule 106 (a) (4), so the case is now read for a determination by the Court. She <br />further stated that there is no deadline for the District Court to make their ruling. <br /> <br />AUTHORITY COMMENTS <br /> <br />Chairperson J. Bryan Myers presented the Authority with copies of an article from the Best of <br />Boulder annual supplement of the Boulder Weekly titled "Best Place to be Harassed by the Police". <br />The article focuses on Gentleman Jim's Bar & Grill in Louisville, CO. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers distributed a proposed draft of a letter to Gentleman Jim' s for the Authority's <br />review and comment. The letter was drafted in response to a motion from the April 24, 2000 regular <br />meeting of the Local Licensing Authority. At the April 24, 2000 regular meeting the Authority, <br />members reviewed a report of an alcohol related incident at Gentleman Jim's on April 6, 2000. <br /> <br />Member Jeffers and Evans proposed a couple of changes to the language of the letter. Sergeant <br />Riggins and the remaining Authority members stated support of the revised letter. <br /> <br />Chairperson Myers then shared with the Authority an article from the Boulder Camera on Boulder <br />County liquor violation penalties. The article stated that a fifteen-day license suspension had been <br />imposed for a first offense, with five days served and ten days held in abeyance for one year. <br />Members discussed the penalty guidelines established in the Authority's Rules and Procedures for <br />second and third time violations, and whether any revisions were desired. <br /> <br />\LFRED\VARRAN~IQUORL2000WIINUTEShMINUTES050800.DOC <br /> <br /> <br />
