Louisville Local Licensing Authority
Meeting Date: May 8, 2000

Mr. Spielman attorney for the applicant, greeted the Authority and stated that White Lodging
Services Corporation and RI-LOU, LLC are jointly applying for a Hotel and Restaurant Liquor
License and will jointly manage the food and alcoholic beverage operations for Residence Inn by
Marriott, Louisville. He stated that both applicants co-own and will manage the hotel facility as
indicated in the deed and Management Agreement.

Mr. Spielman added that the co-applicants intend to enforce strict personnel policies that include
state training for all personnel handling, storing or serving alcoholic beverages. He added that the
hotel will serve full meals and that those meals will provide at least 25% of the gross income from
the sale of food and beverages.

In closing his introduction, Mr. Spielman stated that the signed petitions reflect 98% in favor of
granting this license.

Mr. Spielman called the first witness, Melissa Ronacher, General Manager of Residence Inn by
Marriott - Louisville.

Ms. Ronacher stated that she is responsible for the training of the hotel Managers and Associates,
financial reporting and guest relations.

Ms. Ronacher continued that RI-LOU, LLC is an Indiana LLC whose members are officers and
employees of White Lodging Services Corporation, owner of the property. She explained that White
Lodging Services Corporation is to manage, supervise and direct all operations of the Residence Inn
by Marriott, Louisville and that all employees of the hotel will be White Lodging Services
employees.

Mr. Spielman asked Ms. Ronacher to describe the hotel and facilities to the Authority. Ms. Ronacher
stated that the Residence Inn is a high-end Marriott hotel offering eighty-eight guest suites. She
stated that the majority of customers are corporate relocations and long term business guests with the
average stay measuring in weeks and months. Food services include continental breakfast, full meals
and a Wednesday night barbecue during summer months. Ms. Ronacher stated that meal sales will
account for approximately 60% - 70% of food and beverage sales and that the costs are built into the
room rates. Ms. Ronacher continued that only beer and wine are provided for guests during a two-
hour hospitality reception offered Monday through Thursday afternoons from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This is the only period of time alcoholic beverages are offered to guests. Further, there is no bar area
on the premises and no mini-bars in any of the guestrooms. The general public will have no access to
any meal or beverage service offered at the hotel, only guests of registered patrons would be served.

Attorney Spielman asked Ms. Ronacher to describe the type of liquor training staff would be required
to receive. Ms. Ronacher responded that all employees that handle or serve alcoholic beverages
would be required to attend training provided by the State Liquor Enforcement Division or a certified
TIPS instructor. Finally, Ms. Ronacher offered that any Residence Inn by Marriott, Louisville
employee found to have violated state or local liquor dispensing, selling or serving laws would be
terminated.

Mr. Spielman stated the testimony of Ms. Ronacher was complete.

\WRED\VARRAIx~LIQUORL2000'aMINUTES',MINUTES050800.DOC
