The BAP program is very important to the City and <br />feels some of these will fall under the BAP frame. Mayor Pro Tern thanked <br />Director Pierce for ideas. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney asked about what LRC said about the grant program. <br />Director Pierce said the LRC did not get too in-depth. They discussed whether <br />they should engage additionally with the grant program. They reviewed <br />updated financial projections going into 2024. They discussed their budget and <br />want to be more conservative than in the past as far as projected budget, but <br />got a good understanding of their existing and projected fund balance. Director <br />Pierce gave an update on the LRC advancement of an agreement from LFPD. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney said what Director Pierce laid out can be a shared <br />vision with LRC. He appreciates Director Pierce's efforts. <br />Chair Dickinson said fagade conversation will be important. Most businesses <br />he speaks to believe there will be a long-term change in how they do business <br />and that curbside will be a part of that. We'll need to discuss better designed <br />parking lots and easy pick up spots for multiple restaurants. He agrees that we <br />need to utilize the BAP program and perhaps tweak the program for things that <br />have not been considered in the past. He agrees with Mayor Stolzmann that we <br />have to make clear what the current sign rules are. And then make firm rules on <br />exceptions to those rules during this time. <br />Mayor Stolzmann said the BAP section is important. We need to follow up on <br />BAPs that are in the pipeline and help make them happen. We need to put <br />some effort into attraction. The traffic light on Hwy 42 and Short is a great <br />opportunity. She would like an update on businesses that have expressed <br />interest in coming to Louisville, ie: Ace Hardware and the cidery. <br />Chair Dickinson said the BAP program is meant for attraction and also have an <br />eye on retention and be flexible and nimble right now. <br />Director Pierce said outreach on signage is good. We can provide clarity on <br />what is allowed. We will have to work on timing because we are also asking <br />businesses to add signage about masks. As far as business assistance <br />packages, she has been working on BAP analysis and updating for Council. <br />Her intent is to provide update annually in May or June of each year. We can <br />leave current program in place with temporary BAP for existing businesses, <br />Agenda Packet P. 5 <br />
