Recorded as received. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 40 <br />SERIES 2020 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE LA SALLE HOUSE LOCATED AT 833 <br />JEFFERSON AVENUE A HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council an application requesting a <br />landmark eligibility determination for a historical residential structure to be located on 833 <br />Jefferson Avenue, on property legally described as the north 17 feet of lot 7 and all of lot 8, <br />and the vacated alley adjacent to the west, Block 10, Jefferson Place, Town of Louisville, <br />City of Louisville, State of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission <br />have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission held a properly <br />noticed public hearing on the proposed landmark application and has forwarded to the City <br />Council a recommendation of approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the proposed landmark <br />application and the Commission's recommendation and report, and has held a properly <br />noticed public hearing on the application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Marriott House has architectural significance because it is a <br />vernacular structure that is representative of the built environment in late 19th century <br />Louisville; and <br />WHEREAS, 833 Jefferson Avenue (La Salle House) has social significance because <br />it exemplifies the cultural, political, economic or social heritage of the community considering <br />its association with noteworthy Louisville families; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these and other characteristics specific to <br />the individual structure are of both architectural and social significance as described in <br />Section 15.36.050 (A) of the Louisville Municipal Code and justify the approval of the <br />historic landmark application. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1. The proposed historic landmark application for the La Salle House is hereby <br />approved and is hereby designated a historic landmark to be preserved as <br />such and is eligible for a $5,000 landmark incentive grant. <br />Resolution No. 40, Series 2020 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
