Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
October 8, 2015
Closed Public Hearing and discussion by Commission:
Rice says I am interested in the procedure. It is a little bit unorthodox but I think everybody
seems comfortable with it. I know Staff believes that this gives flexibility. I think it is fine. Other
than that, I think it is a great project, whichever one it is that we end up with. I am really excited
about all the activity out at the CTC. This is fantastic. To see this kind of economic vibrancy in
the City is very important. I applaud your efforts in that regard.
Brauneis says I am in favor of the projects and look forward to further detail down the line.
Moline says I am in support.
Pritchard says that I am in support. I agree that the flexibility on a project of this size is needed.
I think it is beneficial that Staff was able to look at it and present it both ways. I would suggest
that Staff be prepared to give examples of where we have done this before. I assume City
Council will ask the exact same question.
Motion made by Brauneis to approve Resolution No. 31, Series 2015, seconded by Moline.
Roll call vote.
Name
Vote
Chris Pritchard
Yes
Jeff Moline
Yes
Ann O'Connell
n/a
Cary Ten ler
n/a
Steve Brauneis
Yes
Scott Russell
n/a
Tom Rice
Yes
I
Motion passed/failed:
Pass
Motion passes 4-0.
➢ Climbing Gym/Brew Pub - Resolution 32, Series 2015: A resolution recommending
approval of a final planned unit development (PUD) plan and special review use (SRU)
to allow for the construction of a 24,282 SF climbing gym and 4,071 SF brewpub in the
Colorado Technology Center.
• Applicant and Representative: DAJ Architects
• Owner: TEBO Properties
• Case Manager: Lauren Trice, Planner I
Conflict of Interest and Disclosure:
None.
Public Notice Certification:
Published in the Boulder Daily Camera on September 20, 2015.
