We are buying <br />production, locally. RJH-10% of our contribution goes to generation, <br />today. it will create incentives to reduce kw/h usage. It accelerates the <br />city's ability to become 100%. Tiffany -we'll need help putting ballot <br />language into laymans terms. Deb Fahey commended the LSAB for its <br />support. Tiffany -is there a conflict of interest, what is our role in ballot <br />initiative work? Deb -let's ask the city attorney what we can/can't do. <br />we're not elected, so there shouldn't be many restrictions. <br />6. 6:45PM Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda (5 <br />minutes, more as needed)- None <br />7. 6:55 PM LSAB Member Updates and Reports (5 minutes, more <br />as needed) <br />A. Laura- planning commission meeting last thursday re: redtail ridge <br />dev't. Katie encouraged us to reach out to planning commission <br />members. Deb- redtail ridge is a quasi-judicial issue but we don't have <br />any restrictions engaging with PC members (following open gov't <br />guidelines). Katie will add discussion item to July meeting. LSAB can <br />pursue policy development that the builders will need to comply with. <br />B. Seth- Main St receptacles are all waste -only kiosks ... can we get <br />compost and recycling receptacles? Katie will look into it. <br />8. Discussion Item: Sustainability Survey Results and Next Steps <br />A. 165 participants. We see low awareness among residents about the <br />SAP. They are willing to learn how they can help achieve the goals. <br />71 % took advantage of a sustainability program. Keep using them. <br />Local food/ag is of high interest. Laura- can we do an "executive <br />summary" of the SAP for residents to get high level goals? Katie - <br />Lakewood did a kids version of theirs. Consider short videos which are <br />effective. Discussion on using social media more effectively- youtube, <br />instagram etc. Tiffany -pick a theme each month to highlight. Start with <br />the top 5 areas of interest. Deb- suggested to engage with the youth <br />advisory board. Tiffany- get other boards/commissions involved ie. <br />liaison - Katie to add to July agenda. <br />B. City hosted an event on May 27, Martin Ogle, participants from all over <br />the country. Tiffany following up with LMS librarian and Jen Ryan, LMS <br />counsellor. <br />C. June 3 hosted film screening with Q/A. 35 participants. Tiffany- tap into <br />participant list for support of programs. Katie expressed privacy <br />concerns in doing so. <br />D.
