She added Recreation Center highlights, such as the fact that there <br />were over 11,000 participants in the Zoom fitness program. Options for activities <br />will be explored as circumstances allow. Michele Van Pelt recommended <br />considering an earlier opening time to accommodate teachers and other early <br />workers. <br />Golf Course Update <br />David Baril discussed the new revenue records the golf course was <br />experiencing. David Dean reported on course maintenance and its challenges. <br />Nathan Mosely added that the new golf carts are in and people are happy. He <br />added that the much -needed new chemical storage facility has been completed <br />Finally, Ginger Cross updated the group on marketing and the website. She <br />received praise for managing the monthly catalogues now being used by the <br />Recreation and Senior Center. <br />Redtail Ridge Update <br />(Note: Audrey DeBarros recused herself for this discussion.) Nathan Mosely <br />gave a brief update regarding the status of the proposed Redtail Ridge project. <br />Gene Kutscher explained how the availability for public use of fields and tennis <br />courts during the pandemic reinforced the need for Louisville to become more <br />independent in these areas from BVSD. Michele Van Pelt asked Nathan Mosely <br />to investigate and further clarify whether and how it might be possible for <br />Recreation Advisory Board members to communicate with City Council or local <br />ward leaders regarding opinions of the proposal. <br />Recreation and Senior Center and Golf Course Financial Update <br />Nathan Mosely reported on the severe drop in memberships in the Recreation <br />Center as well as City Council requests for budgetary cuts to be reflected in <br />plans submitted to them for operating under different levels of cuts. He noted the <br />impact of these decisions on staffing. <br />A similar situation regarding budgeting and staffing is true for the golf course, <br />although the budget allocation is up by over $200,000, reflecting the purchase of <br />new golf carts. <br />Finally, he commented on the delay to Capital projects, such as Cottonwood <br />Park, caused by budgetary prudence amidst the present uncertainty. As the <br />situation with the virus is fluid, pretty much all of this is subject to immediate <br />change in either direction. <br />Board Update <br />Since our last meeting Christin Hueston resigned from the Board. <br />
