SUBJECT: SUSTAINABILITY ACTION PLAN UPDATE <br />DATE: AUGUST 25, 2020 PAGE 3 OF 3 <br />PROGRAM/SUB-PROGRAM IMPACT: <br />The adoption of an updated Sustainability Action Plan supports the Sustainability Sub - <br />Program by using environmental, economic and human resources to meet present and <br />future needs without compromising the ecosystems on which we depend. The adoption <br />of an updated SAP also supports the Solid Waste, Recycling, and Composting Sub - <br />Program by enabling and educating residents to dispose of their solid waste in a <br />convenient, environmentally responsible, cost effective manner; the Maintenance and <br />Management Sub -Program by promoting the management of the City's Open Space <br />properties in a manner consistent with good stewardship and sound ecological <br />principles that benefits citizens of Louisville by promoting native plants, wildlife, wildlife <br />and plant habitat, cultural resources, agriculture and scenic vistas and appropriate <br />passive recreation; the Cultural Services program by providing services, facilities and <br />activities that inform, involve, engage and inspire the community; among others. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.
