ORDINANCE NO. 1801, SERIES 2020 <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE <br />2020 NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted from time to time certain building and <br />construction standards including editions of the National Electric Code; and <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the interest of the public health, safety and general <br />welfare to adopt by reference thereto the updated edition of the National Electric Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, after proper notice as required by law, has held a public <br />hearing on this ordinance providing for the adoption of said code; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2020 National Electric Code has been submitted to the City Council in <br />writing and the City Council has determined that such code should be adopted as herein set forth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. Chapter 15.48 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby repealed and <br />reenacted to read as follows: <br />Chapter 15.48 <br />NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE <br />Sec. 15.48.010. Adoption. <br />Sec. 15.48.020. Copy on file. <br />Sec. 15.48.030. Permit fees. <br />Sec. 15.48.040. Interpretation. <br />Sec. 15.48.050. Violations. <br />Sec. 15.48.010.- Adoption. <br />Pursuant to C.R.S. Title 31, Article 16, as amended: <br />The National Fire Protection Association standard number 70, hereafter <br />known as the National Electrical Code, 2020 Edition, published by the National <br />Fire Protection Association, 1 Batterymarch Park, Quincy, Massachusetts, 02169- <br />7471, is hereby adopted by reference as the Louisville Electrical Code as if fully <br />set out in this ordinance codified herein with the additions, deletions, insertions and <br />changes, if any, set forth herein, and such adoption is to have the same force and <br />effect as if set forth herein in every particular. The purpose and subject matter of <br />the National Electrical Code includes minimum regulations for the practical <br />safeguarding of persons and property from the hazards arising from the use of <br />electricity and minimum standards relating to the installation of electrical <br />Ordinance No. 1801, Series 2020 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
