Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />Sept. 21, 2020 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />community. Also, Sharon serves on a DEI committee for the City of Louisville. <br />Bridget reported that the Museum staff is having regular discussions about how <br />to collect information about aspects of Louisville history that are difficult to find. <br />Also, the Museum staff is working on putting up new text on certain exhibits, <br />such as that relating to the national fraternal organization called the Order of the <br />Red Men that was active in Louisville, as well as looking into stories from the <br />oral histories and other sources for more diverse stories about Louisville. The <br />Museum staff recently developed a page for the Museum website that invites <br />people to fill out a story survey to share their experiences. The Commission <br />suggested trying to collaborate with other boards and organizations on this <br />topic. The attendees also discussed the importance of developing community <br />relationships over time. <br />Vill. Report from Sharon Nemechek, Director of Library & Museum Services: <br />Sharon reported about the budget cuts for the Library and the Museum, the <br />suspension of the Museum expansion project, and the State's new Dial framework <br />on gatherings and the impact it has on the Museum's programs. <br />IX. Report from Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator: <br />A. Updates on Museum operations, including reopening for tours by <br />appointment and walking tours: The Museum has started doing tours <br />by appointment for groups of no more than six, with facial coverings and <br />social distancing required. The first actual in -person program since <br />March was the walking tour that happened on Saturday, Sept. 19th and <br />was capped at ten people; the next tour will be on Sept. 27th about WWI. <br />Bridget also mentioned the Daily Camera article about the repair of the <br />Blue Parrot stained glass window, and she said that Dick DelPizzo, who <br />made the replica of downtown Louisville, is working on a replica of <br />Memory Square. Bridget said that she and Gigi Yang are going to review <br />the Collections Management Policy that the Commission approved in <br />2016 and make recommendations for appropriate revisions and updates. <br />B. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors: <br />Commission members approved, 6 to 0, the following donations: <br />1. Melanie Miller — Abstract of Title for 524 Main St. <br />2. Museum of Boulder — certificates from the St. Louis Church <br />and School in the early 1900s. <br />3. Loren Laureti — 1980s digital images showing a Labor Day <br />Parade and a tornado seen from town. <br />4.
