VIII. Public Art <br />a. Public Art Committee Update - Kim - Moving forward with the Davidson <br />Mesa tunnel project. Delo tunnel will also be partly funded by LRC. Mark <br />and Beth are working on funding for a welcome to Louisville mural. Signs <br />went up for work on both sides of the tunnel, Katie has received positive <br />reaction from the public. December 3rd meeting for the public to comment. <br />Mark, looking at good locations for a Welcome to Louisville on a suitable <br />building which has approval from the building owners. Requesting feedback <br />on design, placement of sign. Debbie asked about placement being near <br />the entrance of town as opposed to in town. Mark said this was more about <br />a fun mural in town to take photo's near as opposed to an entrance sign. <br />Kim suggested over time we can have several murals around town. Robert <br />Romero will complete by the end of the year, but he has had some setbacks <br />with covid, he has had 1/2 payment, if he can't compete by the end of the <br />year, the contract may need to be cancelled. Katie will check in with City <br />finance to see if we can extend the contract to 2021, but there is concern <br />progress isn't moving forward, LCC has suggested we reach out to Romero <br />to update us on progress. <br />IX. Completed and Planned LCC Programing: Katie said the LCC has been <br />funding great programs considering covid, main street community art for <br />families, library take and make craft pumpkin, library paint and sit event was <br />a success, virtual eco movie screening had good attendance. <br />X. 2021 Programming Discussion - Katie - The city has given new direction, the <br />arts and events, would like to see support for the economic recovery of <br />Louisville. Kim would like to see support for downtown businesses. <br />Reaching out to businesses to see how they could contribute to an <br />educational/food/drinks for virtual or take out and the LCC can help promote. <br />The LCC will reach out to Megan Pierce, economic vitality, to move forward <br />with ideas. Adam, each LCC member can come up with 3 ideas for working <br />on 2021 programming supporting local businesses, virtual or in person. <br />XI.
