Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 18, 2020 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />Chair Dickinson said there were many conversations about outdoor dining but <br />not many public discussions. Director Pierce noted that the Council is holding a <br />special meeting on the Main Street closure on Tuesday, November 24 @ 6 PM. <br />She also said the EVC cannot make any decisions on the street closure; that <br />needs to be approved by City Council. <br />Mr. Kron said that the circumstances continue to change and that outdoor <br />seating is needed. He recommended approval of the continuation of the Main <br />Street closure. <br />Mr. Reed said the street should be kept closed to sustain the restaurants and <br />the other businesses surrounding them. <br />Mr. Oberholzer said that as a commercial building owner with a restaurant <br />tenant he is also in favor of the continued closure. <br />X. Current Articles: Director Pierce provided slides from a recent webinar by <br />Downtown Strategies, "Recruit and Retain: Recruiting Retail and Restaurants to <br />your Downtown." <br />XI. Next Meeting: Chair Dickinson confirmed that the current meeting day and time <br />works for Committee members. All agreed it was appropriate.
