MINUTES OF THE L.OUSIVILLE BOARD OF APPEALS & ADJUSTMENTS CONT'D April 25, 1985 Case N1985 - 1 A. Application far Bobby Teetzel, 421 County Road Vice Chairman Sears opened the Public Hearing. APPLICANT PRESENTATION: Applicant asked what would constitute a 1 hour fire wall? Fwan stated a 2x4 wall, studs 16" en centrr with 5/8" Type X fire rated sheet rock on both sides of the wall. Applicant requests a variance to build a garage on his property with a 3' street side setback in lieu of the required 25'. Hardship is that the home is surrounded on 3 sides by streets. Sears asked if anyone, was is favor or opposed? There were none. STAFF COMMENTS: Ewan cited Section 17.16.100 of the Louisville Municipal Code regarding vision clearance. He stated we have a change in direction of one street in lieu of an intersection of two streets, -here the vision clearance is applicable. BOARD COMMENTS: Wurl asked what was the distance between the patio corner and the property line? Teetzel stated 3'. Wurl asked what was the dimension from the street to the driveway? Teetzel stated about 25'. Sears stated there is presently large blooming bushes on Front Street and Front Street and the intersection of Front Street and County Road. Sears felt the garage wouldn't make it any worse, but the driveway entering Front Street on the North boundary may cause problems. Sears suggested the garage be entered from the West part of Front Street with the garage being moved to the east. Wurl asked if this was possible? Teetzel asked for further explanation. Sears said the north wall of the garage should be lined up with the north wall of the house or move the garage to the front as far as passible to create a parking place in front of the garage. The utility pole would have to be moved which could possibly pose a problem, though the mast would have to be moved when the garage was constructed. He suggested Teetzel contact Public Service. Ross asked Teetzel to remove the shrubs it possible. Teetzel asked what was the height in the vision clearance since maybe h: could just trim the shrubs. Wurl asked if there were any objections to this? Ewan stated there were two phone calls in opposition. Wurl made a motion to approve the 'Teetzel application. It was seconded. Roll call vote. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting was adjourned. 2 SAS
