City Council
Meeting Minutes
December 8, 2020
Items Not Advanced on the Work Plan Based on Council Survey
Councilmember Brown stated he would like Council to consider campaign finance
changes including a limit on contributions and a prohibition on contributions from
corporations. He also would like the prairie dog management plan added list.
Councilmember Dickinson stated he would like the Council to have a discussion on a
continued Main Street closure early in the year to be prepared for Spring and Summer as
a way to help the businesses with COVID restrictions.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney disagreed stating the Council should not discuss a possible
permanent closure until after COVID. Members agreed to have a discussion of a
seasonal closure for the summer but only after the Economic Vitality Committee makes a
recommendation related to COVID recovery.
Councilmember Fahey would like to be sure the sustainability item includes putting solar
panels on the recreation center and she would also like Council to consider an item
limiting the types of pesticides allowed in town.
Mayor Stolzmann stated the prairie dog topic is important and she likes the idea of using
the Lafayette plan as a model. She stated there needs to be more community
conversation on this topic before Council can legislate on it. She stated the expectations
of what people think we can do don't match the reality of what a plan would do. More
conversation is needed before we can start to write something.
There was interest in addressing the campaign finance and prairie dog issues at some
time, but not in 2021.
Councilmember Leh would like the panhandling ordinance updated to address new
legislation. There was no consensus to add this item.
Staff will bring the list back to the January 12 meeting for Council prioritization.
Members adjourned at 9:25 pm.
Meredyth Muth, City Clerk
ADJOURN
0" AA-M,
F ►-®vr Ashley Izmann, Mayor
O
SEAS
