Sustainability Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 20, 2021 <br />• 2020 Wrap Up: Within her Jan-20t" Memo in our meeting packet, Katie B <br />covered nine significant accomplishments of environmental sustainability, <br />social equity and economic vitality, including <br />• Adoption of the updated Sustainability Action Plan, <br />• passage of the Disposable Bag Tax, to start in 2022, <br />• and Hazardous & E-Waste Event. <br />10.2021 Council Work Plan — Sustainability Items: Katie B reviewed items <br />and potential schedule, including: <br />• A possible climate -action tax may be reviewed April -July (Q2) — Boulder <br />and Denver have one. <br />• Sustainability and energy -efficiency additions to the building codes set to be <br />reviewed Q2 & Q3. <br />• Review of how HOAs and Commercial can be brought into alignment with <br />our Residential waste -collection program. <br />11.2021/2022 LSAB Budget Requests: Katie noted her office's budget for <br />operating and program funding for 2021-2022 is minimal. A link to line items <br />related to sustainability is provided in Katie's Jan-20t" Memo on Discussion 11: <br />2021/2022 LSAB Budget Requests, included in this month's meeting packet. <br />12. Boulder County Compost Facility — LSAB Letter of Support: Mark P <br />presented a final -draft letter of LSAB support for Boulder County's proposed <br />composting facility (attached here as part of the meeting -minutes). Mark <br />briefed new members on site overview and points listed in the draft letter. <br />Council Member Deb F brought up two items mentioned in a recent letter in <br />the Daily Camera, regarding trees on -site and its open -space designation. <br />Mark noted both those items are covered in the Q-&-A section of the County's <br />webpages that cover the proposed project. Mark made a motion for formal <br />approval from LSAB, which was seconded by Tiffany B, unanimous approval. <br />Deb F suggested Mark review recent comments against the site proposal in <br />the Daily Camera, and send a letter to the paper responding to those <br />concerns. Katie B will forward the letter to the Boulder County Commissioners <br />and our City Council members. <br />13. Administration Tasks: <br />A.
