SUBJECT: COVID-19 CITY REOPENING AND RECOVERY DATE: FEBRUARY 23, 2021 PAGE 4 OF 14 It should be noted that the public health order (Seventh Amended Public Health Order 20- 36, Attachment 2) associated with the dial changes includes some specific guidance not captured on the chart. For example, p. 11 of the order specifies that gyms or recreation centers larger than 7,200 sq feet may use the space calculator to expand to no more than 100 patrons indoors per room within their useable space. With the new adjustments to the dial metrics and case numbers trending downward, the City is looking ahead to what programs and services may be available in the coming months. Below is a preliminary summary of the current plans for additional reopenings for the spring/summer seasons. A few important notes regarding this reopening information: • All reopening will occur in compliance with the public health guidance, capacity and operating restrictions at the time of reopening. • All plans discussed in this memo are fluid and can change at any time. In some cases the proposed reopening is conceptual and may require changes. • At the time of reopening, the City will communicate current program, service and facility operations through the City website, at City facilities, and other City communication channels. Recreation and Senior Center: The Recreation Center has been gradually increasing programs and capacity consistent with the dial changes. With the most recent shift to Level Yellow on February 6, the Louisville Rec Center will now allow indoor sports, allow for increased numbers in some spaces, offer drop in child care and additional programming. At this time, reservations are not required for general Recreation Center use, except for pool use and classes. Updates for the Recreation & Senior Center can be found at https://www.louisvilleco.gov/living-in- louisville/recreation-senior-center/visit-us/covid-guidelines-faq. Over the next month, the Recreation Center will gradually roll -out additional programming. All programming and services will be conducted within the current guidance, including capacity numbers, mask -wearing, social distancing when possible, and sanitizing. - Outdoor youth sports leagues - Athletic field rentals - Drop in childcare (3 days per week) - Summer Day Camp (registration starting March 1, 2021) - Additional contractual programs — Dolphin swim team - Plant sale (May) - Monarch High School CHSSA allowable sports — swimming, golf, baseball - Splash pad at Recreation Center Senior Center: Programs beginning March 1 (allowable under Level Yellow) CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION 5
