<br />. Affordable housing-HOME, $1.5 billion; Homeless Assistance Grants, $1.5 <br />billion; Neighborhood Stabilization, $4.2 billion. Colorado was one of the first <br />states recently approved by HUD to expend its first round of $34 million. <br /> <br />. Municipal bonds-Relief is being granted through action of the llouse Ways and <br />Means Committee as well as House Financial Services in four general areas: <br />allowing financial institutions to purchase state and local bonds; repealing AMT <br />limits on new private activity bonds; allowing a taxable bond option for <br />govemmcnt bonds; authorizing the issuance of certain school construction bonds; <br />granting a one year deferral on the withholding tax on government contractors. <br /> <br />Delegation Involvement <br /> <br />Cong, Betsy Markey serves on the Hhouse Transportation Committee. Congo John <br />Salazar serves on the House Appropriations eommittee. Congo Ed Perlmutter serves <br />on the House Financial Services Committee. These are three key committees of the <br />Congress involved in marking up portions of the House bill. <br /> <br />eong. Diana DeGette serves as Vice-Chair of the House Commerce Committee, and <br />is not only the Dean of the state's delegation, but she is also high ranking in the <br />House leadership. Commerce may look at thc broadband issue. <br /> <br />eong. Doug Lambom and Congo Mike Coffman both serve on the House Natural <br />Resources Committee. This Committee may look at small community water financing <br />needs. <br /> <br />Congo Jared Polis serves on the Education and Labor Committee, as well as Rules. <br />The Rules eommittee will establish the voting procedures on the package once it hits <br />the t1oor. Congo Perlmutter also serves on Rules. <br /> <br />Sen.
