Strategic planning process <br />In spring of 2019 the Recreation Advisory Board created a sub -committee to work with staff on updating the Coal Creek <br />Golf Course strategic plan to help guide decision -making for the next 3 — 5 years and build support for potential financial <br />support to provide ongoing/consistent renewal and replacement of golf course assets. <br />SWOT ANALYSIS <br />Strengths <br />• Easily accessible from HWY 36 with proximity to commercial areas <br />90% of golfers live within 30 minutes of the golf course <br />• An abundance of trees, ponds and natural vegetation differentiates the golf course from the majority of area <br />courses <br />• Course has matured since rebuild and plays well <br />• The diversity of tees offers multiple skill levels an opportunity to play <br />• Unique 5 hole round opportunities <br />• Highly experienced team of professionals in agronomics, marketing & operations <br />• Marketing within Louisville and outreach to Superior is evident <br />• Restaurant / The Sweet Spot Cafe <br />Quality food, appeal to golfers and local area community non -golfers, creative staff & outsourced <br />contractor expanding the operation from golf course snack bar to a full service restaurant catering to <br />golfers and non -golfers <br />• Youth Programming <br />o PGA Junior League <br />o PGA Junior Camps <br />o Coal Creek Junior Camps <br />o Drive Chip Putt <br />o Monarch Junior membership <br />• Senior Programming <br />o Men's Senior league.
