LCicy�l <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />o Considering a Bike, Walk, and Wheel Week in mid -September to conclude education <br />campaign <br />o Supports Bicycle Friendly Community application this fall <br />• Climate Action Outreach (LSAB) <br />o Development to occur at LSAB meetings <br />Disposable Bag Tax Implementation <br />• Council has approved the budget amendment for implementation and directed <br />communications with businesses. <br />• Staff is development a business -specific FAQ with a sign-up form for businesses to stay up-to- <br />date on available resources and information. Additionally, a postcard is planned for potential <br />impacted businesses to go out in May. <br />• Staff continues to track HB21 1162 and any implications passed legislation may have. <br />Municipal Operations <br />o The use of the herbicides glyphostate & 2, 4-11) have been discontinued on all City - <br />maintained Parks, Open Space, & Rights -of -Way <br />■ The City of Louisville discontinued the use of the herbicides glyphosate and 2,4- <br />D in City -maintained parks and open space, excluding Coal Creek Golf Course. <br />Glyphosate and 2,4-D are synthetic herbicides used to control a variety of <br />weeds. The City made the decision to discontinue using these two herbicides in <br />response to public concerns regarding the use of these chemicals in areas that <br />children, adults, pets, and wildlife frequent. <br />o New facilities maintenance manager hired <br />o Five City facilities have been added to Xcel's pilot program, InfoBench, that supports <br />benchmarking of energy consumption. <br />o Audit applications have been submitted, with anticipated audits occurring in late May. <br />o RFP for golf course charging released. <br />Energy Future Collaboration (EFC) <br />o Through partnership, 120 LED lighting kits will be handed out to seniors via the senior <br />lunch at the Senior Center. <br />o Q2 EFC meeting focused on new building code compliance program that can assist with <br />updating code this year and transportation electrification programming. Additional <br />updates include: municipal facilities, Renewable*Connect, climate action tax, and <br />economic development rate. <br />
