<br />Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 20, 2008 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br />concerning the parking and storage of motor vehicles, recreational <br />vehicles, trailers, dumpsters, roll-offs and portable storage units. <br /> <br />Wood stated the RV - Trailer Ordinance would be held at the April 17, 2008 overflow meeting. <br />He also reminded the Commission the continuance of the Takoda project was set for the April <br />17th . <br />meetmg. <br /> <br />Lipton inquired of the Commissioners availability for the April 17, 2008 meeting. There were no <br />indications that anyone could not attend. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />'" Group Building and Goal Setting for 2008 <br /> <br />Loo discussed possible training and attendance at workshops. <br /> <br />Pritchard suggested a review of former projects to facilitate the Commission direction and goals <br />for future developments and signage requests. The Commission should answer the questions <br />"why haven't the developments worked, i.e. McCaslin Project and what did we do right / <br />wrong?" He suggested training on Green Build Standards. Goals he would like to address <br />include the Comp Plan and Green Build Standards. <br /> <br />Tengler suggested a 'field trip' for a way to offer training and to provide a visual of the actual <br />projects. Training in Green Building would be helpful, especially in understanding the terms. A <br />goal for the Commission would be the update to the Comp Plan. Tengler stated he has been <br />impressed with how the meetings have progressed and flowed. He stated his comfort in being <br />able to communicate openly with the Commissioners. <br /> <br />Russell supported the suggestions offered for Green Building, Comp Plan update, TOD / <br />FasTracks. He recommended the staff contact DRCOG and the Colorado Chapter of AP A <br />regarding any future Planning Commission trainings. He also stated his comfort with being able <br />to ask questions and make comments. <br /> <br />Hartman expressed interest in adding Historic Preservation education to the list of training <br />opportunities. <br /> <br />Loo added her interest in Green Building and Solar applications. <br /> <br />Lipton questioned if there was need to develop Design Standards similar to the CDDSG and the <br />IDDSG for Green Building. He stated his interested in working with staff to set goals and <br />timelines for working on some of the suggested topics from the discussion. <br /> <br />Staff Comments: <br />'" Open Government Training <br />'" March 31,2008 @ 7:00 PM Council Chambers <br />'" April 3, 2008 @ 8:30 AM Council Chambers <br /> <br />Wood reminded the Commissioners of the Open Government Training dates. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Comments: <br />No additional comments. <br /> <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting: <br />None heard. <br />
