<br />Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />SEPTEMBER 25, 2008 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Selena Jaramillo, 900 Via Appia, discussed the lead that the Senior Advisory <br />Board has taken in drafting a section of the Comprehensive Plan that addresses <br />the needs of Senior Housing. <br /> <br />Robert Pierce, 1827 Eisenhower Dr. spoke as a representative of the Senior <br />Advisory Board and discussed the Senior Housing elements the board is <br />requesting to be added to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Walt Dehlkers, 665 W. Juniper Ct.; Connie Howes 637 W. Locust Ct. and Claire <br />Floyd, 651 Fairfield Ln. stated their support of the items previously discussed by <br />Mr. Pierce. <br /> <br />Joel Hayes, 187 Harper, discussed Opportunity Area #4. <br /> <br />Michael Menaker, 1827 Chokecherry Dr. discussed Opportunity Area #7. <br /> <br />Lipton closed the public hearing at 7 PM and the Commission proceeded with a <br />page by page review of the Comprehensive Plan. Following is the summary of <br />the suggested changes to the September 25, 2008 draft of the Camp. Plan: <br /> <br />Chapter 1 - Introduction <br />General - Incorporate the Citizen Survey results into the chapter. <br />General - Typo's were identified on various pages <br />Page 3 - add Sustainable Environment to the Plan elements. <br />Page 7 - Add groups and other board's that have been involved with the <br />review process. <br /> <br />Chapter 2 - Existing Conditions <br />General - Typo's were identified on various pages <br />The Commissioners discussed the Citizen Survey the value it holds as a <br />tool to be used during the update process of the Camp. Plan. The <br />general consensus was to incorporate the results into the <br />appropriate sections of the chapter. <br />The Commissioners also discussed the seven Opportunity Areas as they <br />were identified within the 2005 Comprehensive Plan, as well as <br />their validity to the update of the Camp. Plan. They all agreed the <br />seven areas continue to be key planning areas within the City. <br />The Housing Section on page 23 was identified with several changes, <br />particularly those that relate to the Senior Housing and Affordable <br />Housing. <br /> <br />Chapter 3 - The Plan <br />General - Typo's were identified on various pages <br />Page 8 - The Commissioners requested a discussion of the information <br />provided by Parks and Recreation at the next meeting. <br />
