<br /> <br />SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMS <br /> <br />Looking for something to keep your child engaged <br />during the summer months? Check out some of <br />the programs at the Louisville Recreation Center: <br /> <br /> <br />Beginning in June, take advantage of a two-hour <br />workshop for parents or the four-week <br />Parent/Tot class. American Sign Lan- <br />guage can enhance a child's language <br />development and provide a bridge to verbal <br />communication. Learn how simple it is to use with your <br />child during every-day activities! Parent/Tot classes are <br />designed for children who are eight to 12 months of age. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ideal class for any 2 year old ready to explore on <br />a variety of materials and activi- <br />ties giving children an opportunity to assert indepen- <br />dence by making choices based on interests. A great first <br />classroom experience away from Mom and Dad where <br />children will enjoy dramatic play, art projects, explora- <br />tion of creative materials, and a circle time for sharing, <br />stories, singing and dancing! Children must be age 2 by <br />May 31,2007. <br /> <br /> <br />VOLoCITY <br />difFerence - be a volunteer! VOLo- <br />CITY, a teen volunteer program for youth ages 11-15, is <br />a part-time volunteer program to learn about volunteer- <br />difFerence! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Sign up early as space is limited. <br /> <br /> <br />Little Mixers is a chance for children ages 3 ~ to 5 to <br />measure, mix, and stir! Big Mixers takes <br />it to the next level with introducing table <br />etiquette and table setting for kids ages <br />6-8. Both groups will have a great time <br />learning how to create a variety of edible <br />goodies from scratch. Two-week sessions <br />begin on Friday, June 15, classes meet <br />Friday mornings. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Dabble in science, art, music and books, each <br />topic is a separate camp for your school aged <br />child to enjoy and explore. <br />Abrakadoodle - A broad land- <br />scape of activities such as painting, <br />collage, mosaics, digital art, sketching <br />and much more! <br />Young Rembrandts - A chance to develop and fine- <br />tune art skills: drawing, coloring, creativity, art tech- <br />niques, art vocabulary, imagination, and confidence! <br />TechStars Technology Run - A great week-long pro- <br />gram for the child who really digs technology! <br />Mad Science - Fun, interactive, and educational ac- <br />tivities that instill a better understanding of science and <br />affects the world around us. <br /> <br /> <br />ADULT FITNESS CLASSES <br /> <br /> <br />People of all fitness levels can enjoy walking and <br />hiking on Louisville's and Boulder's trails and <br />paths. Itinerary's will be available one week before class <br />starts. Participants must provide their own transporta- <br />tion to and from trailheads. It is recommended that <br />participants be able to walk a 16 minute mile pace for 2 <br />to 3 miles. We will walk rain or shine! Hikes will be led <br />by Ronda Frandsen. <br />Thursdays <br />6/12-8/23 7:30-9:00 AM, $65 residents. Pay ~ price and <br />participate in only half of the hikes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Jain Running Group" for a fun summer train- <br />ing program. Train for a marathon, half marathon, <br />5 , or 10K. Each runner will receive a personal training <br />program in addition to class training sessions. Get in- <br />spired, stay motivated, and reach toward your goals. Just <br />in time for the Boulder Backroads Marathon!
