2009 BOARD & COMMISSION OPENINGS The City has a variety of Boards and Commissions each with specific responsibilities as detailed in the Municipal Code and City Charter. Areas of interest range from the Arts to Historic Preservation to Open Space. City is currently accepting letters of interest for vacancies on municipal Boards and Commissions. Louisville residents who wish to apply may submit a let- ter of interest to Mayor Chuck Sisk, 749 Main Street, Louisville, CO 80027, or via email tosiskc@ci.louisville.co.us. Please include your name, address, business and home phone numbers, and the board or commission for which you are applying. Please also briefly state what your interest is in serving on the board or commission. Each applicant will be interviewed by the City Council. Interviews are tentatively set for the evenings of Monday, November 10 and Tuesday, December 9. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: 5:00 PM, Monday, November 3,2008 City Council will be taking applications for the following: Board of Adjustment Historical Commission Building Code Board of Appeals Horticulture & Forestry Advisory Board Cultural Council Library Board of Trustees Historic Preservation Commission Local Licensing Authority (Applicants with a background in preservation-related Open Space Advisory Board professions are specifically encouraged to apply.) The following is a list of some of the action items taken by the City Council since the last edition of the Community Update. t:!:>Approved Resolution No. 22, Series 2008 to amend the City's policy regarding reimbursements for expenses resulting from sewer backup or water meter failures. t:!:>Approved Resolution No. 24, Series 2008 and Ordi- nance No. 1536, Series 2008 giving final approval for the Takoda Development Plan. t:!:> Approved an agreement giving all City of Louisville employees access to an RTD Eco Pass bus pass. t:!:>Approved Ordinance No. 1535, Series 2008 rezon- ing a 4.9 acre parcel ofland at 1125 Short Street from Industrial to Mixed-Use Residential zoning. t:!:>Approved Resolution No. 30, Series 2008 approving a business assistance package for Brasel, LLC for a new restaurant in the Village Square Shopping Center. t:!:>Approved Resolution No. 34, Series 2008 allowing the operation of the Patchwork School at 1428 Main Street, an area zoned Commercial Neighborhood. t:!:>Approved Resolution No. 36, Series 2008 approving a lease and license agreement between the City and the Boulder Valley School District for a fiber optic telecom- munications network.
