<br />LOUISVILLE HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />Tuesday, February 3, 2009, 8:00 a.m. <br />Sunnyside Place, 401 East Street <br />Louisville, CO 80027 <br /> <br />To foster the availability of quality, affordable housing and related services for the residents of <br />Louisville, using broad community resources. The Housing Authority of the City of Louisville <br />will accomplish its mission through: community collaboration, effective services and <br />programs, professional organization, efficient resource management, and the expansion of <br />funding sources. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Callan Childs; Scott McKenzie; Steve Underhill; Rob Kelly <br /> <br />Commissioners Absent: Terri Abbott <br /> <br />Staff Present: Frank Alexander, Executive Director; Scott Simkus, Development Planner <br /> <br />Others Present: Selena Jaramillo; Steve Anderson, Remax Broker; Paul Wood, City Planning <br />Director; Walt Oelkers and Claire Forlani, Louisville Senior Foundation; Heather Balser, <br />Assistant City Manager; Judith Champion, Cottonwood Creek Condos HOA <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Meeting was called to order by 8:08am by Frank Alexander <br /> <br />Approval of the Aeenda <br />February 3rd agenda - Scott motioned to approve the agenda. Rob seconds. Approval of the <br />agenda passes unanimously. <br /> <br />Matters from Members of the Public** <br />Tenant stopped in to thank LHA for making all units non-smoking at Sunnyside. She is truly <br />enjoying living in a smoke-free environment. <br /> <br />Acauisition of land opportunities in Louisville for future affordable housine development <br />Cottonwood Park 5-acre piece of land <br />Steve Anderson, Remax Broker, believes there is a great need for senior housing, but it is <br />difficult to find land. He would like to represent LHA as its real estate broker in this acquisition. <br />This property is not currently under contract. Steve spoke with current owners on 2/2/09. <br />Interested parties include a church, The Bridge school, and possibly LHA. Property has access, <br />utility and ditch issues. It is being offered at $1.35 million for 5 acres or $270,000 per acre. If <br />LHA decides to move forward, Steve recommends that the LHA move forward and place the <br />
