City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 4, 2021 <br />Page 4 of 13 <br />Councilor Brown, City Manager Heather Balser, and Deputy City Manager Megan Davis. <br />11 candidates were recommended for Council consideration this evening. <br />If approved, the 11 people recommended for the Task Force will convene once per month <br />through November 2021 with its first meeting on Thursday, May 20th at 9:00 am. The <br />Task Force will set topics for focus groups on the BIPOC experience and explore <br />challenges faced by other marginalized communities in Louisville. The Task Force will <br />then assess community feedback and make recommendations to City Council in <br />November 2021. <br />Mayor Stolzmann asked everyone to stay engaged in this topic throughout this process <br />noting public input will be vital. <br />Councilmember Leh thanked all the applicants; there was a great number of highly <br />qualified applicants to choose from. He stated he is looking forward to the <br />recommendations the task force brings forward as these members have enormous insight <br />into the community. <br />Councilmember Brown stated it has been an inspiring process and he thanked all those <br />who applied. He encouraged everyone to continue to participate and bring their <br />perspective to this process. <br />Public Comments — None. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Dickinson moved to approve the 11 applicants to the Task <br />Force; Mayor Pro Tem Maloney seconded the motion. <br />Councilmember Dickinson stated this will be a very important project for the community <br />and he thanked all those participating. <br />VOTE: Motion passed by unanimous voice vote. <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION — SOUTH BOULDER ROAD AT -GRADE CROSSING <br />PROJECT <br />Director Kowar reviewed the $1.3M in work proposed for five intersections on South <br />Boulder Road. Those intersections are Main Street, Centennial Drive, Garfield Avenue, <br />Via Appia, and Eisenhower Drive. Most of this is TIP funding that does not come from the <br />City. He stated these at grade improvements are independent from the underpasses that <br />are under consideration later this evening. These are preliminary designs that will include <br />changes to traffic flow and safety. He reviewed proposed changes at each intersection. <br />• Main Street <br />0 Construct directional ADA curb ramps at the southeast corner <br />
