WHEREAS, on August 18, 2020, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1799, Series <br />2020, an Emergency Ordinance Amending and Restating the Requirement to Wear a Face <br />Covering in the City of Louisville, which extended the City's face covering requirement until <br />amended or repealed by Ordinance of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 3, 2021, Governor Polis enacted Executive Order No. D2021-079, <br />Ordering Individuals in Colorado to Wear Non -Medical Face Coverings; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 2, 2021, Boulder County Public Health issued Public Health Order <br />2021-03, which imposed face covering requirements that were more restrictive than those that <br />were enacted by the state the following day; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 6, 2021, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1805, Series <br />2021, an Emergency Ordinance Amending and Restating the Requirement to Wear a Face <br />Covering in the City of Louisville, which revised the City's face covering requirements to align <br />with the BCPH Order, except for more stringent restrictions regarding required face coverings <br />for children; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 5, 2021, Boulder County Public Health issued Public Health Order <br />2021-05, revising its face covering requirements to align with Executive Order No. D2021-079; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the <br />"CDC") outlined new mask guidance for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 14, 2021, Governor Polis issued Executive Order 2021-103, in <br />accordance with the CDC mask guidance, which Order requires, with certain exceptions, only <br />those persons who are eleven (11) years of age and older and who are not fully vaccinated to <br />wear face coverings when entering or within an indoor public space where members of different <br />households are present; and <br />WHEREAS, as of May 11, 2021, more than sixty-three percent (63%) of people residing <br />in the Denver metropolitan area have received the COVID-19 vaccine; and <br />WHEREAS, in Boulder County, more than 192,000 people have been vaccinated, <br />seventy percent (70%) of the eligible population, and vaccine distribution continues within <br />Boulder County at a rate of 2,289 doses per day; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the best interest of the City and its <br />residents and businesses to repeal its local face covering ordinance, so that the wearing of face <br />coverings within the City will be governed by orders issued by Boulder County Public Health, as <br />such requirements may be amended or repealed; and <br />Ordinance No. 1808, Series 2021 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
