City Council
Meeting Minutes
June 1, 2021
Members agreed the Hwy 42 at Short or South underpass should include an easy
connection with the South Street underpass.
Director Kowar stated Hwy 42 at South Boulder Road is more of a regional underpass
and it might make sense to see if regional funds can be used for it rather than being fully
paid by Louisville.
Public Comments
Mark Cathcart, 1763 Sweet Clover Lane, stated the Cultural Council encourages Council
to include art installations in all of the underpasses and that those plans be included early
in the process for the best results. He stated he is disappointed in the design proposed for
South Boulder Road at Hwy 42.
Sherry Sommer, 910 South Palisade, asked how the City could get other funding for the
South Boulder Road at Hwy 42 underpass.
Mayor Stolzmann stated staff continues to look for grants and other funding opportunities
for all of the underpasses including the South Boulder Road at Hwy 42 location.
Mayor Stolzmann asked Council to spend the next couple of weeks thinking over these
underpasses and getting input from constituents so that when we meet again on June 17
there can be a discussion of what we truly think we can afford and how best to move
forward.
CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
None.
COUNCIL COMMENTS, COMMITTEE REPORTS, AND IDENTIFICATION OF FUTURE
AGENDA ITEMS
ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE — City received an award from Downtown Colorado
Inc. for the 2020 outdoor dining program.
FINANCE COMMITTEE — no report
UTILITY COMMITTEE — no report
COLORADO COMMUNITIES FOR CLIMATE ACTION — Superior likely joining the
CC4CA.
COMMUTING SOLUTIONS — no report
