City of Louisville
Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes August 23, 1994
The City of Louisville Planning Commission met in the City Council Chambers, 749 Main Street,
Louisville, Colorado. The following were present:
Planning Commission:
Bill Boulet, Chairperson
Tom McAvinew, Vice Chairman
Rex Renfrew, Secretary
Russ VanNostrand
Kathleen Neal
Jeffrey Lipton
Absent: Barton Puryear
City Staff:
Paul Wood, Director of Planning
Peter Kernkamp, Planner
Dan Blankenship, City Engineer
Dave Lee (Video)
Ca11 To Order: Chairperson Boulet opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call: All Commissioners were present with the exception of Barton Puryear.
Approval of Meeting Minutes for August 8, 1994: Minutes approved by voice vote.
Commissioner Lipton abstained from the vote.
I. Chairman - Opening Remarks: Chairperson Boulet noted this is a continuation of the Old
Town Zoning Review discussion. Staff has included a background memorandum for the
Commission.
H. Staff Presentation/Commission Questions -Input (Side Yard Setbacks): Peter Kernkamp
gave the staff presentation. As indicated in the memorandum to the Commission, it would appear
that the best course of action would be to develop Planned Unit Development, PUD, standards
to overlay on top of the existing zoning, rather than to develop an new zonedistrict for the Old
Town area. Staff has prepared an outline which shows the specific types of items that the PUD
can address, yet still allow some flexibility. The first area addresses setbacks, specifically interior
side yard setbacks. One suggestion would be to vary the interior side yard setbacks based upon
the lot width, with the minimum being three feet.
Q. What would happen if someone would assemble more than one lot?
1
