Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
May 41h, 2020
Klemme liked the idea of homeowner buy -in for extraordinary circumstances and having
a couple of bids. She added that it felt awkward and took time to discuss these issues in
front of homeowners.
Haley agreed, but stated that extraordinary circumstances often involved new situations
so it was important to hash it out on an individual basis.
Selvoski agreed that each situation would be different, adding that the more discussion
they had the more certain they would be.
Time Limits on Public Comments/Presentations
Discussion of how to manage public comment and presentation lengths. Dunlap thought
that three minutes was too short but there could be some limit. Klemme noted that
presentations have multiple speakers and they could ask for presenters to respect
everyone's time with a gentle reminder rather than a limitation. Staff could also let
applicants know to think about time when they were preparing their applications. Haley
suggested that when there were lots of public comments lined up that could trigger
having a time limit during that meeting.
Adjourn:
Klemme moved to adjourn. Parris seconded. The meeting was adjourned around 8 PM.
5
