Andre Mazur, 471 East Raintree Court, referred to Garrett Mundelein to speak on his behalf. Garrett Mundelein, 555 County Road, respectfully disagreed with the explanation provided by Director Zuccaro, stating that City Hall referred him to the City Portal, which provided specific forms to fill out and on which he had completed an application on July 2"d for a demolition permit. On July 19t", having not heard from staff, Mundelein Called Planner Bauer who stated that she had not heard about the permit and requested emailed documents. Mundelein stated that he thought they were outside the timeline based on the language in the Code and added that he had been a resident of Louisville since 1996 and had been involved when the Code language was written. The language was meant to give staff a time -of -the -essence response to these applications and he thought that legally the applicant should be able to have the permit granted. Mundelein stated that he had worked with Mr. Mazur to make the project more in line with what the Commission would want to see and regardless of the timeline he thought the Commission would approve the demolition. Zuccaro offered to look into what documentation had been submitted on July 2"d, but added that the Commission could hold the hearing now on the merits, as Mr. Mundelein suggested. Chair Haley stated that she was fine moving ahead with the hearing. Mazur stated that he was fine moving ahead with the hearing and he echoed Mr. Mundelein's statement that they had made preservation -related changes to the house. Bauer presented the request and described the history of the structure, which was over 100 years old. She stated that it represented the history of growth in Old Town and maintained 5 out of 7 of the integrity criteria. She stated that staff recommended a 180-day stay and noted that the request was for a partial demolition. Klemme asked about the first 12 feet on the west side. Bauer replied that the first 12 feet of the front fagade that faces the street would remain. Garrett Mundelein, 555 County Road, described the purpose of a demolition review and stated that the social and architectural histories of this structure were not unique in any way and that no historical person was attached to it. He described the structural issues with the back of the house and added that the front of the house was not built well at first but someone had added a better support system to it since it was originally built. Klemme asked if Mr. Mundelein was a structural engineer. Mundelein responded that he was a designer and had worked in Louisville extensively. Klemme explained that the Historic Structural Assessment involved professional work that the Commission respected and she wanted to understand Mr. Mundelein's professional position. L
