City Council
Meeting Minutes
August 17, 2021
The general consensus of the group was the item could not be finished in this meeting
and additional discussion and information is needed.
Mayor Stolzmann asked if there was support for asking staff to bring back a requirement
that everything north of disk drive be open space.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney stated he doesn't support making everything north of Disk Drive
as open space.
Councilmember Dickinson stated he understands some residents don't want anything on
this site but he noted it is privately owned, commercial property. He would like to find a
way to the require the best and as much open space as possible and he would accept
having clustered, five -story buildings. He supports it being the most sustainable
development we can agree to.
Councilmember Fahey stated she supports this being a sustainable development with as
much open space as possible without requiring everything above Disk Drive to be open
space. She would support giving some height waivers in exchange for clustering of
buildings for more open space.
Councilmember Lipton stated making Disk Drive the dividing line is somewhat arbitrary. If
we want the most sustainable development we can get we need to have some density. It
is all of our best interest that the project succeeds. He supports more work on open space
and sustainability and considering exchanging that for waivers.
Councilmember Leh stated he thinks more open space is warranted under the criteria, but
exactly how much and where needs to be determined. He supports having some density
and height but it would need to be a specific number.
Mayor Stolzmann stated she supports requiring everything north of Disk Drive as open
space as it has been shown that that is the most pristine part of the property and it
contains the important water features and the view shed.
Councilmember Brown also would like to require everything north of Disk Drive as open
space and feels that is consistent with the code and what residents want. He would like
more information on how the transportation improvements are going to be paid for. He
supports electrification of the entire sit.
MOTION: Mayor Stolzmann moved to continue the ordinance to 8/31/21 at 6 pm, Mayor
Pro Tern Maloney seconded. VOTE: All in favor.
RESOLUTION NO. 57, SERIES 2021 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PLANNED
UNIT DEVELOPMENT TO ALLOW CONSTRUCTION OF A 64,757 SF INDUSTRIAL
