Hassan stated the <br />area with the additional parking is also used for truck access to loading docks and is <br />needed for the turning access. If that area is not used for the trucks it can be used for <br />parking. The use will depend on the tenants using the building. <br />Councilmember Fahey asked if additional landscaping could be included to shade the <br />blacktop. Hassan stated the proposal does meet the landscape requirements including <br />shade and a buffer to the blacktop. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney stated this is the intended use for lots in this area and he <br />supports it. <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tern Maloney to approve Resolution No. 57; Councilmember <br />Dickinson seconded. <br />Mayor Stolzmann stated the building meets the IDDSG. Councilmember Leh agreed the <br />proposal meets the criteria. <br />VOTE: Motion passed by unanimous roll call vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 58, SERIES 2021 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PLANNED <br />UNIT DEVELOPMENT TO ALLOW FOR A MURAL ON AN INDUSTRIALLY ZONED <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1501 EMPIRE ROAD continued from 8117121 <br />Mayor Stolzmann introduced the item and asked for any disclosures. Seeing none she <br />opened the public hearing. Mayor Stolzmann noted the City owns this building. <br />Planner Bauer stated the site has an existing, non -confirming sign that was installed <br />without a permit. The applicant is proposing to install a code compliant sign separate from <br />the mural and redesign of the existing sign to remove all commercial advertising <br />language. <br />The applicant requests approval of a mural that would be the same size and location as <br />the existing large wall sign that was installed without a permit. The mural would be <br />oriented toward Empire Road with a total area of 542.5 sq. ft. <br />Staff recommends approval of the resolution. <br />Public Comments — None. <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tern Maloney moved to approve Resolution No. 58; Councilmember <br />Dickinson. <br />VOTE: Motion passed by unanimous roll call vote. <br />
