Council Member Dickinson also questioned the current amount of the Consolidated Utility Fund reserve. Council Member Brown stated that there should be communication as to what the City is accumulating funds for if that accumulation results in reserves greatly exceeding the target. Regarding open space acquisitions, Council Member Brown stated that the City should determine how much is needed and then formally designate those funds. Money above target amount should be specifically designated for open space or other needs. Mayor Pro Tern Maloney will work on amending the policy and will bring back a revised policy for review and discussion at a future meeting.
