Linger at the bird <br />blind to observe a wealth of wetland life or examine the <br />nest platform for activity. A casual stroll can easily turn into <br />an adventure by hopping on the Lake to Lake trail which <br />connects the 36 Bikeway and Davidson Mesa Open Space <br />(to the west) with Waneka Lake in Lafayette (to the east). <br />As you explore this 16-acre city -owned open space <br />and beyond, note how vital water is to farmers <br />in a dry climate. Local farmers built the original <br />reservoir in the early 20th century which is now <br />used to convey water from Hecla Lake to Harney- <br />Lastoka Open Space for agricultural use. <br />
