Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 8, 2020 <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />Klemme asked how we balance preservation with the cost to preserve homes in a deteriorated <br />state. She appreciated the background and history on the project. <br />Haley noted that the house meets the requirements for landmarking: age, significance, and <br />integrity. <br />Klemme noted that the grant is limited to the aspects of a project that we cover. <br />Haley brought up the scope of the project and the extraordinary circumstances request. She <br />appreciated that the request is for 1/3 of the cost and shows respect for the intent and balance <br />of the fund. Klemme and Parris agreed. <br />Klemme made a motion to recommend approval of the Landmark Application as presented for <br />1200 Jefferson Avenue. Keller seconded. Passed unanimously by voice vote. <br />Dunlap made a motion to recommend approval of the Grant Request as presented for 1200 <br />Jefferson Avenue. Keller seconded. Passed unanimously by voice vote. <br />Parris made a motion to recommend approval of the Alteration Certificate as presented for 1200 <br />Jefferson Avenue. Klemme seconded.
