Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
September 27, 2021
Golf Course Update
David Baril reported that the golf course is doing well.
• The Men's League has finished activities, while the Ladies' League is still
ongoing.
• In October, the Golf Course managers will review revenue, membership
information, survey results, and pass rates. Any proposed changes will be
presented to the RAB at our October meeting.
• There will be a membership drive in November.
• The Golf Course is short-staffed on weekdays but still managed to exceed
revenue expectations for September. RAB members congratulated the staff for
putting on large events with minimal staff.
Ginger reported that 375 people submitted the Golf Course survey by the October 22
deadline. Golf Course staff encouraged players to complete the survey by offering a
small bucket of balls as a reward. Results from the survey will be available at our
October meeting.
Board members asked about the restaurant. David Baril reported that The Grill is
struggling with staffing and supply chain problems. As a result, it has had to close
sometimes when it is scheduled to be open. In addition, players noted that the
beverage cart has not been available consistently. Board members talked about the
importance of communication, suggesting that the restaurant management place a
sign on the door to explain why the restaurant Is unexpectedly closed. Board members
encouraged an end -of -season review with the restaurant management to reset
expectations, discuss survey responses, and improve communication with the public.
Nathan will schedule a golf subcommittee meeting with Michele Van Pelt and Dick
Friedson. They will continue to look at options for a new clubhouse, with a focus on
financial feasibility.
Open Government Training — October 27, 6 pm, via Zoom
Lisa Norgard will check with Kathy Martin to see if anyone needs this.
Board Updates
Lisa will check to see which board positions will terminate at the end of this year.
Applications are due in early November.
5
