RESOLUTION NO. 71 <br />SERIES 2021 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE LESLIE HOUSE LOCATED AT 501 JEFFERSON <br />AVENUE A HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council an application requesting a <br />landmark eligibility determination for a historical residential property located at 501 Jefferson <br />Avenue, on property legally described as Lots 15-17, Block 3, Acme Place, City of Louisville, <br />State of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission <br />have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission held a properly <br />noticed public hearing on the proposed landmark application and has forwarded to the City <br />Council a recommendation of approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the proposed landmark <br />application and the Commission's recommendation and report, and has held a properly <br />noticed public hearing on the application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Leslie House has architectural significance because it is a vernacular <br />structure that is representative of the built environment in early 20t" century Louisville; and <br />WHEREAS, the property 501 Jefferson Avenue (Leslie House) has social significance <br />because it exemplifies the cultural, political, economic or social heritage of the community <br />considering its association with Louisville families and cultural heritage; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these and other characteristics specific to <br />the individual structure are of both architectural and social significance as described in <br />Section 15.36.050 (A) of the Louisville Municipal Code and justify the approval of the <br />historic landmark application. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />The proposed historic landmark application for the Leslie House is hereby <br />approved and is hereby designated a historic landmark to be preserved as <br />such and is eligible for a $5,000 landmark incentive grant. <br />Resolution No. 71, Series 2021 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
