Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
October 14, 2021
update. She noted that there would be a consultant that would be driving a lot of the
process.
Williams asked if there were any ways to update the Plan on a shorter timeframe
because in five years things would be vastly different.
Howe asked if it would be better to make small changes to the Plan rather than
overhauling the whole Plan given Commissioners Diehl and Williams' comments.
Williams appreciated that the Expiration of PUDs was an item for the Work Plan as it
was a frustrating process for Planning Commission.
COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
Diehl asked for a summary on the Foundry remand from Council.
Ritchie replied that Council had differing opinions on whether they would support The
Foundry as submitted, mostly the loss of senior housing and loss of commercial were
the primary comment areas. She stated that the packet would have the minutes and she
would send the link to the Council video, as well.
Diehl asked about the citizen Redtail petition.
Ritchie replied that ordinances did not go into effect until 30 days after publication of the
ordinance if the community wants to revisit the decision. She described the process and
shared that the petition would be reviewed by the City Attorney and the petitioners were
now in the process of gathering signatures. If they met the signature requirements, then
the process would take the application back in front of Council, where the Council
members could revisit their decision. If the Council allowed the decision to stand, there
would be a special election for the Louisville citizens to decide.
Ritchie confirmed that the commissioners would be precluded from signing the petition.
STAFF COMMENTS
Ritchie shared the upcoming schedule.
ADJOURN
Howe moved and Diehl seconded a motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:07 PM.
11
