City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 19, 2021 <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />Tess Weltzin, spoke in favor of adopting the IECC and the appendix to reduce <br />greenhouse gas emissions for generations to come. <br />Sadie Gabriel, a student at Louisville Middle School, spoke in support of adopting the <br />IECC and appendix to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and indoor air quality. <br />Evan Hiatt, a student at Louisville Elementary School, spoke in support of adopting the <br />IECC and appendix as the building sector is a large polluter. <br />RJ Harrington, 457 East Raintree Court, spoke in support of approving the IECC and <br />appendix. <br />Grady Gabriel, a student at Louisville Middle School, spoke in support of approving the <br />IECC and appendix. New buildings need to be run by renewable energy and not fossil <br />fuels. <br />Amelie Valliere, a student at Louisville Middle School, spoke in support of adopting the <br />IECC and appendix to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. <br />Isabelle Valliere, a student at Louisville Middle School, spoke in support of adopting the <br />IECC and appendix to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve indoor air quality. <br />Arthur Towber, a student at Louisville Middle School, spoke in support of adopting the <br />IECC and appendix to stop global warming with stricter laws for building homes. <br />Caleb Forrester, a student at Louisville Middle School, spoke in support of adopting the <br />IECC and appendix to make homes more energy efficient. <br />Andy Johnson, 920 Lincoln Avenue, spoke in support of adopting the IECC and appendix. <br />Tiffany Boyd, 550 Grant Avenue, spoke in support of adopting the IECC and appendix. <br />Tamar Krantz, 691 West Street, spoke in support of adopting the Zero Energy Homes <br />appendix. <br />Mike Kranzdorf, spoke in support of some of the proposals, but stated he doesn't <br />understand why EV chargers need to be installed in certain areas. He asked that <br />consideration of the appendix be moved to phase 2 of adoption and expressed concern <br />about raising costs for low income home owners. <br />Councilmember Fahey noted that when people spend more on these upgrades it can be <br />long-term cost savings in other ways such as energy use. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney stated he supports the ordinance. <br />
