Discussion/Direction- Strategic Plan Item #1-3: Review Feedback and Next
Steps on Business Assistance Program (BAP) Recommendations: Director
Pierce summarized the feedback from the October 5 City Council meeting.
Mayor Pro Tern Maloney commented that it wasn't clear what direction Council
had provided on the vacancy bonus recommendation but reiterated that this is
one tool within the BAP that the City could use when appropriate. He also
clarified that he is supportive of the two year vacancy requirement and $50,000
cap, but is open to further discussion. Mayor Pro Tern Maloney questioned why
the information regarding the Planning Staff recommending fees and rates was
included. Director Pierce responded that the information was included to
confirm that these rebates are being paid out of unrestricted general fund
revenue sources. Mayor Pro Tern Maloney stated the importance of knowing
that any rebates given out would be reducing the City's revenue.
Councilmember Leh echoed Mayor Pro Tern Maloney's comments and agreed
that Council did not provide a clear sense of direction. Chair Dickinson added
that there was more general discussion than direct feedback provided by the
City Manager's Office
303.335.4533 (phone)
City of Louisville
749 Main Street
303.335.4550 (fax)
Louisville CO 80027
www.LouisvilleCO.gov
Agenda Packet P. 3
