RESOLUTION NO. 3 <br />SERIES 2021 <br />A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL A HISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION FUND GRANT FOR THE LOUISVILLE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH <br />BUILDING LOCATED AT 701 GRANT AVENUE <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a historic preservation fund grant for the <br />Louisville First Baptist Church property, located at 701 Grant Avenue, legally described as <br />Lots 10-11, Block 8, Pleasant Hill; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the HPC have reviewed the application and found it to <br />be in compliance with Section 3.20.605.D and Section 15.36.120 of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the historic <br />preservation fund grant request on February 22, 2021, where evidence and testimony were <br />entered into the record, including findings in the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission <br />Staff Report dated February 22, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, the preservation and restoration work being requested for the Louisville <br />First Baptist Church building includes eligible preservation, rehabilitation and restoration work <br />on the historic building; and <br />WHEREAS, the requested grant amount of $124,047.20 exceeds the maximum grant <br />amount of $40,000 and the applicant seeks consideration of additional grant funds due to <br />extraordinary circumstances related to the building size, condition, and architectural details <br />unique to the property, as permitted through Section 12 of City Council Resolution 17, Series <br />2019; and <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission finds these proposed <br />improvements will assist in the preservation of the Louisville First Baptist Church, which is to <br />be landmarked by the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />The Historic Preservation Commission recommends the City Council approve the <br />proposed historic preservation grant application for the Louisville First Baptist Church <br />property, 701 Grant Avenue, in the amount of $124,047.20 for the following scope of work: <br />Grant Request <br />Match <br />Total Cost <br />Estimate <br />Install new replica <br />windows <br />$42,897.20 <br />$42,897.20 <br />$85,794.40 <br />Foundation Repair <br />$15,000 <br />$15,000 <br />$30,000 <br />Front Step <br />Construction <br />$2,500 <br />$2,500 <br />$5,000 <br />1 <br />
