RESOLUTION NO. 9 <br />SERIES 2021 <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE <br />LANDMARK DESIGNATION FOR A HISTORICAL RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY <br />LOCATED 841 JEFFERSON AVENUE <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a landmark eligibility determination for a <br />historical property located at 841 Jefferson Avenue, legally described as Lot 1, Mossoni <br />Place; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance <br />with Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, including Section 15.36.050.A, <br />establishing criteria for landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the proposed <br />landmark application; and <br />WHEREAS, 841 Jefferson Avenue (Mossoni House) has social significance because <br />it exemplifies the cultural, political, economic, or social heritage of the community considering <br />its association with various Louisville families and Louisville's cultural heritage; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mossoni House has architectural significance because it has <br />architectural integrity that is representative of the built environment in early 20th century <br />Louisville and the post -WWII period; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC finds that these and other characteristics specific to the Mossoni <br />House have social and architectural significance as described in Section 15.36.050.A of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1. The application to landmark 841 Jefferson Avenue be approved for the <br />following reasons: <br />a. Architectural integrity of the 1959 era remodel has gained historic <br />significance and has been largely maintained over time. <br />b. Association with Louisville's heritage. <br />2. The Historic Preservation Commission recommends the City Council <br />approve the landmark incentive grant in the amount of $5,000. <br />3. With the amendment that the structure be named the Mossoni House. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of November, 2021. <br />Lynda Haley, Chairperson <br />1 <br />
